Louisa Metcalf is a fully qualified Financial Planner and the Director of Metcalf Wealth Managers, having gradually taken over leadership from her father, Michael Metcalf, the company’s founder. Louisa has been an integral part of Michael’s businesses since 1992, working closely with him in both his general insurance brokerage and later the independent financial advisory service.
With a strong foundation in financial planning, Louisa earned her Financial Planning Certificate in 1999. After dedicating several years to research, technical analysis, and client support while raising her family, she returned to professional study, achieving significant qualifications across estate planning and regulated financial advice.
In 2015, she completed both the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners (STEP) Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation and the STEP Advanced Certificate in the Administration of Estates—enhancing the firm's ability to support clients with later life and legacy planning. She subsequently re-completed her Diploma in Financial Planning and the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2018, passing her final examination with distinction.

At home, she and her family foster dogs for a local animal rescue, supported by their two rescue dogs, Ralph and Poppy. She is also a committee member for the Maidstone & District branch of the Royal British Legion, helping with events and Remembrance activities throughout the year.

Alex Metcalf rejoined the company in September 2018, bringing with her over 15 years of experience working in education. Her background in support, communication, and coordination makes her an essential part of the team.
In her role as Client Services Manager, Alex oversees day-to-day office operations, manages the company diaries, and ensures the smooth running of the business. She is the primary point of contact for both clients and providers, playing a key role in maintaining strong relationships and supporting the delivery of high-quality service.
Outside of work, Alex leads an active lifestyle. She enjoys walking her rescue dogs and regularly takes part in Parkrun events. As a passionate runner, she has completed several marathons—working towards her lifelong goal of running the London Marathon.
Alex also has a Pre-Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language and is a dedicated member of a signing choir. She values time spent with her two grown-up children and grandchild, and remains closely connected to her local community.

Michael Metcalf founded Metcalf Wealth Managers in 2003 after 20+ years running another practice with his business partners. He is a highly respected figure in the financial services profession, with a career spanning over five decades. In 1988, after many years as an insurance agent, sales manager, and investment consultant, Michael established an independent financial advisory business and has continued to serve clients and families, some of whom he first advised as early as the 1960’s.
Now (reluctantly) retired, he was Chartered Financial Planner through the Personal Finance Society (PFS) and a Certified Fellow Financial Planner with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Michael brought exceptional qualifications and a deep commitment to client care throughout his career. He also held the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate and pension transfer qualifications, always placing great value on listening to clients and tailoring solutions to their unique goals and circumstances.
In late 2023, Mike stepped back from advising clients and formally passed the leadership of the business to his daughter, Louisa Metcalf, a qualified financial adviser who had worked closely alongside him since 1992.
Beyond his professional life, Michael is a passionate creative. A keen actor and playwright, he has appeared on stage at The Oast Theatre and had several of his plays performed at local venues. He is also an accomplished portrait photographer.
